Fear shot through Bellatrix as she and two other men were led down a very long dark hallway. She quickly glanced at her husband, Rodolphus Lestrange; however, he did not look back at her. Why was she afraid? She had done everything willfully and purposely. It was not as if she regretted any of it. I am doing this for the Dark Lord! She kept telling herself over and over again. But no matter how many times she told herself this, it did not suppress the intense fear that clutched her stomach.
After what had seemed liked forever, they reached the huge wooden door, just behind this door was a circular room with stands that ran around the room's length, full of eagerly watching witches and wizards. But that was not the most terrifying thing in the room, no, not even close. The thing that was making Bellatrix's heart pond in her chest was those chairs . Chairs with chains eagerly waiting to helplessly pin their victims into them.

Azkaban seemed bearable at first. The long days to herself gave Bellatrix time to think. But too much thinking is never good. It was only on the third day that her thoughts started intermingling with each other. On the second week of her imprisonment, each time a Dementor glided by her cell, her dark thoughts became even worse. By the second month, it was getting hard to tell the difference between her nightmares and the waking world, in Azkaban, they were one in the same.
Winter had fallen over Azkaban. It had been six months since Bellatrix had been imprisoned. Six months .Had it really only been six months? It felt like an eternity. Cold winter winds blew into Bellatrix's cell. There was no protection here from the elements. You could freeze to death and no one would ever know. Bellatrix could feel herself losing weight very quickly. The prisoners were only feed once a day. The food was not appetizing, nor did it even look like food at all.
